Recently, BoldRide reviewed the top apps for car lovers and Trapster made it into the top 5. This unique app enables drivers to share information with one another, including finding speed traps and hazards. While these warnings of potential peril could be anything from tire-demolishing potholes to construction crews, the coolest use of Trapster is when people upload police radar/laser speed traps.
Forget flashing your high beams; just blow up the cop’s spot on Trapster. We sat down with Trapster’s Product Manager Sean Farrell to get more background on how this app works and the inspiration behind it.
Jason Toews was frustrated when he’d fill up with gas only to find cheaper gas a few minutes later. Thus he came up with the idea to post gas prices online as a way to find the lowest gas prices, without driving completely out of your way and GasBuddy.com was born. It’s a free app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry users, and it’s online for everyone else, and it relies on users to upload the latest pump prices and then publishes the results for all. Incentivizing users to post is a point system that awards prizes, but the real prize is finding extra cash in your wallet after you pull away from the station. Toews talks shop with us about his product and the state of gas prices.

When Slavche Tanevski began studying at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany, he never guessed he would end up creating one of Lamborghini’s fiercest looking concept cars, the Ankonian. In an exclusive interview with BoldRide, Tanevski describes his assignment – his first one during his second term – as being told “to design the next supercar that would contain Lamborghini DNA.” Everything else was left up to his imagination, with no restrictions placed on feasibility or technical packages.
