Audi R8 tuning done right, courtesy of our friends over at ABT. Because we’ve seen all to many times- like here, and here, and holy shit here- how tuning of an Audi R8 can make a turn for the worst.
But aside from a subtly gorgeous exterior, complete with custom wheels, exhaust, front and rear diffusers- underneath the hood is where is mid-engined beauty stretches its legs. The 5.2L V10 was turned up to produce 600-hp and manage a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of just about 3.5 seconds. Quicker than a standard R8, wouldn’t you know.
The sun is shining, and birds are chirping. That means that spring has sprung, and so the convertible tops will also be down and the classic cars will be out on the road again. It is a great time to be a car enthusiast, as the calendar fills up with car shows, and races to attend. In the meantime, fill up on the latest car news with the best stories of the week from BoldRide!
Perhaps one of the most identifiable elements to the Iron Man movie franchise has been Tony Stark’s rides. In each installment, you get to see his garage, which has all manner of high-powered vehicular activity, including a Shelby Cobra, Saleen S7, Tesla Roadster and a whole host more! Though such vehicles are seen in the background, the car that is perhaps the most syonymous with the big screen’s Iron Man character is the Audi R8 and R8 Sypder. Sure, that is the intended result of product placement which is probably worth millions of dollars, but it worked.
BoldRide fully understands that there are enthusiasts, and people who look at their cars like they do any other household appliance. In recent years, many manufacturers have gone over and above to make cars that were once excruciatingly dull a lot more interesting. Yet, there are still a handful that you’ll have to stifle a yawn to look at in the driveway
If you were looking for something to be frightened of today, look no further. This is one mean and clean Audi RS5. Developed in partnership by Vossen and OSS Designs, this gorgeous piece of German engineering is one monstrous looking ride.
Dutch DJ Afrojack has for one reason or another become a “celebrity” point of interest in the automotive realm. Maybe it’s because he has/had a very sexy matte black and gold Audi R8, or maybe probably because he wrecked his Ferrari 458 only a few hours after he got it, like a jackass.
Some people get to have all the fun. Fresh off revealing our jealousy of Hooniverse and their experiences with the Morgan Three-Wheeler, we have this video of the Brits at Autocar racing an Audi R8 V10 against a Ducati Diavel. The former is the Lamborghini-powered supercar that we have come to love, while the latter is the motorcycle equivilent to the supercar world. Since Lamborghini recently purchased Ducati, and since the V10 from the R8 comes from the Lamborghini Gallardo, this is more of a healthy competition between cousins than a world-ending head-to-head.
If you were looking for something interesting at Audi’s booth this year, this is it. The all-new S3- in sedan form. Along with the equally as handsome, less powerful A3, the S3 is Audi’s latest and greatest hotted up sedan.
We’ve seen stories about cars crashing into houses, front yards, even pools, but nothing quite like this story coming out of the UK today. According to the BBC, a man is in serious condition after crashing his Audi TT into a Long Meadow Walk, UK home. What makes this crash unique is not the placement of the crash, but its altitude. The TT was found lodged into the house four feet off the ground! Investigators are on the scene trying to determine the cause of the crash, but we have our own theories.
When it comes to supercars, Audi has itself covered with the R8 models, but what about a hypercar? The R8 may compete with Ferrari on a 458-level, but what about something to take on LaFerrari? According to sources, such a car is in the works.
