Sigh…to be a member of the Dubai Police force. Not only do they patrol some of the wealthiest streets in the world, filled with some of the most exotic vehicles known to man, but on occasion, they also get to drive said exotics as well.
Ferraris, Bentleys, Lamborghinis- all coated in the signature white and green police formal. Why do they get to drive all of these sweet exotic supercars though compared to, say, the Nantucket police dept.? Mostly because they’re loaded up to the gills with cash, and also maybe because they’re a bit of attention whores. But who can blame ‘em- only question is, where the hell do we sign up?
Cataloging the “top auction cars sold” is a fool’s errand. It’s difficult to account for the vagaries of the market and money in general, making what sold for record money 10 years ago look like a relative bargain now. Taste also factors in. A few years back, Barrett-Jackson sold the Truppi-Kling 1970 Chevelle LS6 Convertible for $1.2 million, certainly a record for an LS6 at that point. At the depths of the economic downturn just two years later, that same car sold for $264,000, which was probably what it was worth in the first place.

While Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars provided hours of entertainment, it was the attention to detail that made Corgi cars a favorite.

The man most known for his role as Bond, James Bond in the 007 Skyfall film, Daniel Craig, can’t seem to stay away from his character’s roots. Recently celebrating a 45th birthday this past weekend, the actor picked up/was gifted with a handsome red Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster.
…You know, for your overly-pampered and unknowingly British young child. Because- as every parent will tell you- with money flowing out of every orifice, automotive based accessories are a MUST when caring for their younglings.
If I was a car company, I think I’d relish the chance to constantly be coming up with new vehicles that were pleasing to the eye. I was mediocre at Math in school, but to me and hundreds of thousands of others, the beauty of cars is in the numerous angles – the angles in the windows, the angles in the windscreen and the angles on the bonnet. From whichever viewpoint you look at a car you see different aspects and different touches that you’d not noticed before, all of which have been very carefully thought through by the design team, to make the car faster, more stable or even just nicer to look at.
