The 1967 Jaguar XKE is known both for its timeless design and high performance. Produced between 1961 and 1974, the Jaguar E-Type is iconic. It is arguably one of the most attractive sports cars ever built and has won numerous awards for its looks. Designed by Sir William Lyons and aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, the E-Type wooed the automotive world. In addition to its stunning exterior, the Jaguar E-Type is fast. In 1965, the 3.8L engine was upgraded to a 4.2L, making this cat even more desirable.

Your Ride: 1979 Volkswagen B1 Passat

As a child, Jack Smith fell in love with Herbie. Ever since, this Melbourne, Australia native has been a Volkswagen fanatic. A neighbor drove a VW B1 and he constantly found himself seeking out this model at car shows. B1s, according to Smith, “seemed like they had become the forgotten black sheep of the VW family. I love an underdog so I decided to find one that was down on its luck and needed some loving to get back on the road.” Smith shares with BoldRide the complete restoration process and introduces us to his very own Herbie, “Frank.”
