That’s it folks, we just named our first-ever Bold Ride of the Year, and believe us, this selection was not easy. While there were many worthy contenders, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 inched out the competition and earned the top spot. And here’s why:
It may not be the prettiest car in the world, but amongst Camaros, it is a sight to behold. The new, aggressive front end, massive racing wheels and quad exhaust all give this Camaro one badass stance.
Since it’s introduction in 1967, the Z/28 has proven to be the one of the most track capable Camaros ever built. And for 2013, Chevrolet made sure that the new Z/28 was exactly that; handsome, nostalgic, and able to perform on and off the track.
Which brings me to my next point…
Under the hood sits a monstrous 7.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 with 500 horsepower. That in itself should have lesser vehicles cowering in fear, but this isn’t just some quarter mile car, oh no, the Z/28 took on the dreaded Nurburgring and threw down an impressive 7:37.4, making it the fastest Camaro ever to make the trip.
The new Camaro Z/28 is the whole package — looks, heritage and performance — and that’s why it’s the boldest ride of 2013.
