Paris, 2010; world-renowned artist Jeff Koons and BMW debut a spectacle to the world of art and motoring — the BMW M3 GT2 art car. Beginning with Alexander Calder’s stunning 3.0 CSL in 1975, the 2010 M3 GT2 was example number 17 in a long list of BMW-inspired works created by artists around the world.
Today, in 2013, we westerners will get our very first taste of this gorgeous example of engineering in the flesh at Art Basel Miami Beach. This marks the first time the M3 GT2 has ever been on display in North America.
In case you forget, this M3 art sports a 4.0-liter V8 with somewhere in the realm of 500 horsepower, and a 0-60 mph time of only 3.4 seconds. Catch it on display at Art Basel Miami Beach beginning December 5th, 2013.
