There’s no denying that we all love the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. It’s the revival of a classic nameplate, all wrapped up in a pretty package and given a healthy heaping of power. What’s not to love? Well if you have a higher threshold for power, speed, and performance than the average joe, there will always be a little wiggle room. That’s where the ZR1 comes into play.
And with all of Chevy‘s time spent perfecting the new Stingray, it’s only a matter of time before we see a more powerful, more sexier version, with some ZR1 badging. So we thought we would take a look ahead in this BoldRide exclusive- together with Hansen Art- and see just what the all-new ZR1 would be like.
If you were looking for three words to perfectly describe this Corvette with a ZR1 makeover- drop. dead. gorgeous. The Corvette always has and always will be a fast and ridiculously gorgeous designed piece of american muscle. But thanks to some homegrown creativity, the Stingray has taken on a sharper new look to rival the Lamborghinis and Ferraris of the world.
With a set of signature high-spoke chrome wheels, sharper, more distinct lines, and a few aerodynamic aids, the looks of the 2015 ZR1 have been optimized to enhance the cars overall capabilities both on and off the track.
Like any Corvette/ZR1, power is a must. As of yet GM hasn’t given full details on just what will power this monster of a machine, but we expect somewhere in the market of 650-hp to be pulled from a twin-turbocharged/supercharged 6.2L LS7 V8.
So far, we haven’t officially heard just what the base Stingray will fetch (somewhere near $70-$75K), but tipping the scale at $1M at auction, it gives Chevy all the more reason to jack up the price. Don’t expect the ZR1 to fall anywhere below the $115K mark. More powerful, better looking and more focused than the previous generation ZR1, for 2015, be prepared to dish out some serious cash flow for this American supercar.
