LeMons racing takes a special breed. The grassroots racing series requires cars that cost no more than $500, with exception of safety equipment. There is some wiggle room for creativity, and an extreme example of that is this aeronautical-themed car, dubbed the Spirit of LeMons.
Built by Jeff Bloch, aka “Speedycop,” the vehicle is made from a 1956 Cessna airplane. It is powered by a Toyota minivan engine, and though it may not be the fastest car on the grid, it is definitely the most unique. In a racing series where originality is one of the founding principals, that is what matters most.
