So this doesn’t look right. Our friends over at Hooniverse, through their indelible scraping of the interwebs, dug up this fascinating ride from Africa. The car is from Nigeria and made from wicker, designed for advertising by artisan Ojo Obaniyi.
Obaniyi, 40, covered a small pickup/ute/thing in Raffa cane wicker, even going so far as to apply two tones for interior and exterior. With over 20 years of experience for the artisan, this wicker car is an impressive piece of work.
According to Obaniyi, the car was meant to showcase how artisans in Nigeria, many who lack formal education, can be successful members of commerce and society. We can dig that!
