We’ve known for quite the while that not only would the U.S. find themselves a healthy serving of Ford Focus in the form of the ST, but with Ford’s new ‘One Ford’ global strategy, it was only a matter of time before a newly renovated, more powerful version of the RS would be finding its way alongside the current lineup.

New reports from Autocar indicate that the next-generation RS will be available by 2015 and will bear a more powerful 2.3L 330-hp turbocharged four cylinder, a significant boost from the previous Vovlo-derived 2.5L producing only 301-hp.

The third generation hot-hatch is expected worldwide in showrooms by 2015.
