Every now and again, airport luggage guys get to see some strange and wonderful things (we assume). But it’s not every day that a LeMans-winning 1967 Ford Mk IV GT40 passes through. Good gravy, that thing is sexy.
The racer, driven by A.J. Foyt and Dan Gurney, was one of the most iconic symbols of American racing during the mid-60s. Meeting the world with success in only three years- in 1967, Ford was ready to prove to Ferrari that it was here to stay. Which they did.
The Ford-owned racer is most likely getting tee’d up for a week at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show, which opened to the public on February 9th, and will continue until February 18th.
