Believe it or not, the Porsche Panamera was starting to grow on me. Not just the idea of it, but the looks as well. I don’t know what happened; I took a good look at a bright red Panamera GTS sitting in the lot of the Porsche Center at Silverstone and said, “Yea, I would.” It had nothing to do with the PR guy sitting next to me or the Michelin rated food either– I swear.

It wasn’t until recently that I saw the newly proposed Sport Turismo model that the beer goggles I had for the Panamera fell off. Much like when a buddy shows you a picture of the girl you COULD HAVE went home with, compared to the one you actually courted. I glanced at the back end and realized how green the grass could get elsewhere. With new Sport Turismo Panamera, the guys from Stuttgart addressed what most people were complaining about; the rear rump. It seems to be taking DNA from the gene pool over at Audi but I don’t care, it looks amazing. They don’t want to call it a station wagon though. A “four-door hatchback” with a twin turbo V8? I’d be cool with that.
Check out the video and you can see those meticulous Germans go to work to perfect their sedan/wagon/hatch. Maybe a two-door is in the pipeline to resurrect the 944? Fingers crossed.
