Details on the upcoming McLaren-and-Ferrari-rivaling Porsche 960 have emerged. The news on “FeFi” or Ferrari-Fighter- seems to be getting a bit more clear with new specs and a jaw-dropping gorgeous new render from Automobile.
Initially, reports of the company’s signature flat-six were deemed sufficient for the upcoming supercar. But now, new rumors suggest that the 960 will be better suited with a larger, more powerful 3.9L 650-hp quad-turbohcarged boxer eight. All of that forced-induction, opposing-cylinder goodness would be mounted in the middle.
Along with more power, the Ferrari fighter is expected to be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. This will give a sprint time to 60 mph in just about 2.5 seconds.
Porsche is expecting to sell only between 3,000 and 4,000 examples when it goes on sale in 2017. Get your order forms ready kids.
