Ok, car nerds, this is for you. Recently, Renault revealed their all new F1 engine for the upcoming 2014 season, and although coming a year late, Renault promises this new engine to be a stiff competitor in the upcoming season. Renault Sport F1’s Deputy Managing Director, Rob White, gives Racecar Engineering the full details as the construction and testing of the new engine:

“We have now been running development engines of various types since the latter part of last year. First of all we had single cylinder engines running…We also had multi-cylinder engines for the previous architecture that was running and has run more recently.

Already undergoing extensive research at Renault’s Paris testing facility, the new 1.6L direct-injected V6 is expected to run the length of next season.
