The Subaru BRZ is one of the most talked-about cars of the summer. It’s good looking, it’s sporty and it’s a Subaru; check, check and check. But one thing us, along with damned near everyone else has been waiting for, is a hotter, more jacked-up STI version.
Now, Subaru is now looking to put our anticipation to rest with the introduction of a new turbocharged 4-cylinder engine 280-hp engine for the BRZ.
This new report coming from Automotive News, suggests that Subaru is hard at work on a new engine for the RWD Subie for a possible STI variant, as previewed earlier this week in Sydney.
While Subaru has yet to make any details official, we expect this boost in power from the standard 200- to the aforementioned 280-hp to be a player on the upcoming high-performance BRZ, along with the possibility of an all-wheel drive conversion.
