Anyone in CT trying to get around or to check on loved ones during the storm, have hit a road block- literally. Connecticut governor Dan Malloy earlier today announced that all non-essential vehicles have been banned from traveling on highways.
On its face, this sounds like a safe plan, however many CT drivers that NEED to get somewhere will now be forced to take back roads. Those roads could be covered in downed power lines or tree branches. Also, there are reports that Trucks carrying food and supplies, among everything else that travels via truck, are being held up at the CT borders. I can’t help but wonder if this move will actually help- or hurt the people of Connecticut, as they, along with everyone else in the Northeast buckle down for the storm.
