The Aventador is Lamborghini’s attempt to build a more hospitable super car that will still scare the crap out of anyone with a pulse. Car and Driver Abroad’s British hot shoe, Jethro Bovingdon, picks one up in London for two days of thrashing in search of some great driving roads, and to see if the new super Lambo has lost any of its edge.
We’re pretty sure the Aventador hasn’t because it’s using for the first time in nearly 40 years an all new V12 engine, and a revolutionary new pushrod suspension setup similar to proper racecar. It also looks like a Lamborghini should; taking Bertone’s famed wedge design well into the 21st century and applying design cues that first appeared on the Lamborghini Reventon.
There’s not much to dislike about this video. There’s a Lamborghini Aventador in it for one. There’s also a Lamborghini Aventador doing back-breaking full throttle up shifts. An AWD Lamborghini Aventador doing powerslides. An orange Lamborghini Aventador breaking necks in London, and a Lamborghini Aventador waking up the dead as it rockets through the Welsh countryside. So we’d have to say that this is a very, very solid effort at creating some car porn. Good job Jethro!
