Chevy‘s new slogan for the new 1LE should be “the most bang for your buck,” because it most literally is. A 2:58:34 around the American Nurburgring, Virginia International Raceway, in a $37K, 426-hp Camaro is nothing to be modest about, it’s almost nearly impressive.
This lap time slates it right between the 2005 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with 2:58.20 and the 2011 (need I remind you 550-hp) GT500 which put up a shoulder shrugging 2:58.48. In simpler terms this puts the 1LE around six seconds slower than the older sibling ZL1 but nearly five seconds ahead of Fords Boss 302 Laguna Seca and near track gods like the Porsche 911 Turbo S and Ariel Atom 3.
Another interesting track time we found at VIR was the “0:00.0″ put up by the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, hm.
