Today is Mother’s Day and Mom deserves the best. And no, we’re not talking about flowers or brunch. The cool moms might fall in love with Super Wagons. That’s right, the hot items this year (at least to us) are two tire shredding, hybrid gobbling rides from Mercedes-Benz and Cadillac. Sure, you could pick up a four-wheeled appliance with a bow on top and make her feel as confident as January Jones in a fat suit. But Mr. Perfect-Family-Man across the street already beat you to it. Two sensible options are the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate. Here’s how to go about finding that ultimate gift for mom.

Until recently, the selection of fast wagons in the USA has been sparse at best. Of course, there was the Audi S4 Avant, some turbocharged offerings from Subaru, as well a handful of E55 AMG wagons that Mercedes-Benz brought stateside in 2005. But we’ve never had two wagons so closely matched as the E63 and CTS-V. Nevermind the fact that they have more horsepower and torque between them than a Bugatti Veyron.
