Your Ride: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Ask Derek von Kleist what he loves about his 2010 Chevy Camaro 2SS/RS and his answer is quick and simple: “What’s not to love?” Bought from a local dealer in Ontario, CA back in 2009, von Kleist has poured hours of time and countless dollars into getting his Camaro as bad ass as possible. “The styling and aggressive body lines were what drew me to it in the first place,” he says. “I call it The Dark Knight, considering I’m always being told my car looks like the Batmobile.” Move over, Bruce Wayne. Your wheels look pedestrian in comparison to this Chevy.

BoldRide: What have you done to make your Camaro a bolder ride?

Derek von Kleist: I added: OBX longtube headers, DHM low pro cut outs, Catalytic converter delete, Flowmaster Hushpower Exhaust with resignator delete and x-pipe, CAI cold air intake, V-Max ported and polished throttle body, Custom dyno tune, Pfadt Suspension lowering springs, Pfadt swaybars, GM Parts full ground fx package painted to match factory Cyber Gray Metallic (front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser), GM dovetail rear spoiler, Custom vinyl center stripe and hockey stripes, Blacked out Chevy bow ties (front and rear), Smoked tail lights and turn signals, Staggered 20 inch TSW Donington wheels (20 x 8.5 Front,  20 x 10 Rear) , Nitto Invo tires (245/45/ZR20 Front,  275/40/ZR20 Rear), Custom suboofer box w/ JL W6 subwoofer, and custom LS3 badges by Emblem Pros.

What would you change about it?

I wish they offered the new ZL1 when I was in the market for the SS, but I’ll make this car faster than a ZL1 when it’s all done.

What’s your favorite memory of your car?

Probably the day I bought it, but watching it put up its recent dyno numbers is a close second.

What are the products you use to detail your SS?

I use Adam’s Premium Car Care products exclusively for everything on the outside and inside of the car. Most recently the exterior was treated to a 3 stage paint correction then a coat of their Brilliant Glaze followed by Americana Paste Wax. My car just looks dripping wet after an Adam’s detail.

What’s your favorite place to drive it?

My favorite place to drive is through the twists and turns of Glendora Mountain Ridge Road or just cruising down Pacific Coast Highway in California with the windows down. I’d die to take it to the Nurburgring in Germany. There’s nowhere else on earth that tests cars like that track does and it looks like a lot of fun.

Lastly, what’s one dream accessory you’d love to get for your SS?

My dream accessory for my Camaro would have to be Megan Fox. I assumed she came with the car just like in Transformers.  I would also someday like to hear the whine of a supercharger under the hood. I’m planning on swapping out the cam and heads soon so we’ll see what happens after that.
